changes and comments

Much though I love Ya-Ya-yah, I've been devoting too much time to the fandom and I really need more time for myself. I've been neglecting my job and friends, and as a result of late I'm always behind with work and have a ton of unanswered e-mails in my mailbox. ^^U So I've been thinking perhaps making a few changes will help.

1. I really wish I could update everyday, but since that's not possible, I've set up a subscription box on the navigation bar. If you subscribe you'll be notified by e-mail whenever I update, so you won't have to come and check every now and then. =)

·

2. I won't be uploading/reuploading any more old/new Ya-Ya-yah shows. ^^ Until recently I helped the webmaster of the Ya-Ya-yah TV Show Guide to upload them, but since I stopped I've realized that it's only a very small percentage of people who download the shows from my videos section. It's not a surprising thing, really; the Ya-Ya-yah TV show Guide is very easy to navigate and cleverly organized. So to all those of you who used to download the shows here, you'll have to do so at the site above mentioned from now on. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but that way I'll have more time for myself and for uploading other things I want to keep on uploading like high quality live stage performances, high quality show I have, old and new MS performances, old and new SC performances, mp3 rips... Hope you'll understand. =)

3. This morning I found out that having as I have a paid flickr account I can make the pics in my album available to anyone for download. That means you won't have to sign in anymore to download the scans I upload there. This is good news, isn't it? ^___^ Wish I had learned this earlier. ^^

Theo-chan: I noticed you put 2002 - 2007. Do you really have all those scans? I do have scans as old as 2002, but unfortunately not from every magazine and issue. I also have some which I have no idea which date or magazine they're from. ^^U I'm hoping you guys will help me sort them out. =)

Sere: i don't know where do you get the patience to upload all this. Me neither. XD No, seriously, my love for Ya-Ya-yah knows no limits. ;-) ps: you visited my blog? i think i'll die of shame XD Why? XD I really liked the entries I read as I said. =)

Yuki: on one of your previous posts about Shoon doing his own thing on stage, I completely agee! lol but I find it funny how at times he gives it his all and some times he's just so lazy looking lol yet you just have to love him no matter what lol Exactly! XD I think he only gives it his all when it's something he thinks is worthwhile the effort... and that performance with Yamapi certainly was. I mean, he doesn't get to sing with Yamapi-sempai everyday. ;-) And if you pay close attention to him in the X-Dame performance (in which the juniors backdanced for Takki and Tsubasa) you'll notice how focused he was on the choreograohy -no matter how silly it was. XD He was even looking down at some moments, as if refraining from making eye contact with the other juniors so he wouldn't start laughing like it happened to others.

Cherryberry: This live stage was awesome. I agree, Hikaru is really nice guy. He was the one who noticed his fans the most. By noticing I mean that he looked down to his fans and tried to interact with them. But all Ya3 members seemed to enjoy being there, crowded by their fans.HAAWWT! They look too good in those school uniforms. Shoon looks so happy. ♥

Yui: Yes, it's a darn shame Shoon didn't get interviewed on his graduation, like those girls, but then I think it was not just a coincidence that he was sitting on the front row when the camera focused on that girl being handed her diploma. ^_^v So, yeah, at least it's something that we got to see a glimpse of that so very important day in his life. Do you think he'll go to Uni? I hope he does. =) I really really want to do the graduation article translations as well as the nicknames ones... BUT! i dont have the time~ my exams are coming Focus on your studies, Yui-chan. You'll have time fot that when your exams are over. =) In that livestage that they went down to the fangirls. I wondered why Shoon didn't look into the audience Well, in a way I understand, 'cause it must be scary to be surrounded by like dozens of crazy fangirls. XDD Hikaru is the one who seems to deal better with it. Taiyô seemed a bit tense too. Did you notice shoon's complexion got worse recently? Yes, I did. =( Poor Shoonie. I thought that's what he said, but I wasn't sure I had understood correctly. XD That's so cute!! It seems they're really good friends. But nothing is cuter than that article you translated about Taiyô texting Shoon at night to ask him what he needed for highschool. LOL Oh, you're watching HanaKimi too? Doesn't Jian remind you of Shoon in some ways? ^^B I read the japanese BBS (2ch). Where there are lots of mean ppl from whatever i've read. Quite some ppl really hates shoon. And quite a handful of them really thinks shoon is a plain looking guy. A Japanese girl told me about those kind of BBS and how some fangirls were really mean to Shoon. It angered me. >=( What on earth do they have against him? Some people are so stupid! And it seems they're blind too. How can they say he's not good-looking? One of these days I'll devote a whole entry to how good looking Shoon is. XD

a couple of old SC clips

I'm having a lazy weekend so today's update will be just a small and random one. ^^U I've updated the videos section thanks to Yungboy with a couple of old SC clips from 2005 and 2006, so go check the videos section! ;-)

On another note again I find myself having to catch up on many things I want to comment on, like the latest SC, of which I also want to upload clips and all. I liked the 1st SC episode of February better, but it was still enjoyable. I resented the fact that Shoon didn't get to do much, but he looked beautiful even when he was just standing quietly behind Yabu and the others in the MC section. It's funny that from many of the magazine photoshoots one would say Shoon is just an average looking guy, but I think that's because he gets a bit grumpy when he has to pose, and also because he's one of those people whose beauty is captured best at random moments, like these:

And finally, because it isn't healthy to obsess on just one thing let me give you another thing to obsess over! XD I highly recommend you to download and watch Hana Kimi, a Taiwanese drama based on a Japanese manga that is hilarious and really cute at the same time. The leading actress, Ella Chen, one of the singers of the girls band S.H.E., is very funny, and the leading actor, one of the singers of the boys band Fahrenheit, is the most adorable guy ever -and so handsome too! They have a great on-screen chemistry, and perhaps it's just the romantic in me, but from photos and videos I've seen they might have something going on off-screen as well. XD He smiles non-stop when he's with her and I think she likes him too. ^^B They'd make such a cute couple! (click on the pics to see them full-size)

What is the drama about? ReiXi, an American-Chinese girl, falls head over heels for a Chinese athlete named Jian after seeing him on television. Wanting to get to know him, she decides to find out all about him and go to the same school as him. There's just one problem: he goes to an all boys school. That won't stop her, though. ReiXi disguises herself as a boy and goes to the high school Jian attends.

the Beatles connection

Today must be the Beatles' day or something. XD This morning I turned on the radio and they were playing Let It Be, then I came across the scan I've used for the new header, which obviously brings to mind Abbey Road, and Fiona has uploaded to her clubbox the latest Ya3 live stage in which Ya-Ya-yah sing a bit of A Hard Day's Night. ^___^ I'm in the process of uploading this. I'll post the links later. ^^

Yabu's voice made me cringe a little at first at his solo lines -when will his voice break completely?-, but then, when he sings the "tokimeki wo wasureta..." line in the Ya-Ya-yah medley it sounds just superb. *__* Doesn't this performance make you wish you were there, at the studio -especially when they stepped down to stand among the public? Hikaru is soooo nice, reaching out his hand towards the fangirls! ^^BBB They almost pulled him down, tugging at his hand, though, poor guy. LOL

To catch up on things I didn't have the time to post about... I guess you all know by now that Shoon has graduated already? =) Yui found a video in Yahoo News Japan, and I managed to download it thanks to a program I have, so if you want to have it click here (.wmv version) or here (.avi version). You can only see him for like 2 seconds, but hey, this is a must-have for any Shoon fan! XD It was his graduation ceremony after all! ;-) Congratulations, Shoon! ^^B

Also, Myojo's April issue has a photoshoot centred on Shoon's graduation as well. =) So cute! There are congratulations messages from Hikaru, Taiyô, and Yabu, and Yabucchi calls Shoon "Ya-Ya-yah no oniichan", "the eldest brother in Ya-Ya-yah". ^^B How sweet is that? XD

Last week was like the longest week of my whole entire life. -__- So much work and stress and... I think Yama-P is not fat, just really muscled. XD Also most JE guys are skinny, so when one is a little less slim it looks like he’s fat by comparison.
Afraid I don’t have a clip of Shoon singing Daite Señorita at the New Year concert. I wish! ^^ I was hoping somebody might have at least recorded an mp3, as they did with the Daibôken concert, but no such luck. *sigh* And they didn’t even show it in any of the clips of the concert they showed on the Ya3 show. T__T Shame.
OSSan, BAD and so on are less known JE junior units, but I don’t know much about them I’m afraid. Sorry. ^^U My JE knowledge is not that great, really.
And yes, it’s confusing what theyre doing with Yamada and Yuto. They should be together in one unit. In the last SC both Kitty Jr. And Tap Kids were introduced as part of JJE. WTH? ?_?

I'm glad you like the new header and well, I don’t really know if Miyata and Shoon are friends, but I think they are both calm people, so they should get on well. That pic of them I posted is actually the only reason why Miyata is mentioned as one of Shoon’s friends in BnS. XD;;;
I’m so happy I’m not the only one who was pissed off by the fact they changed the line-up for Te wo tsunaide yukô. T___T Isn’t it bad enough for us Yamabu fans that there are hardly any Yabu+Shoon pics that they also had to separate them in that performance? *flails arms and cries dramatically* Yes, how baka can Goseki get, not helping to pull when they played tug-o-war? XDDD

I hated PE when I was in school, but I wouldn’t mind either having Shoon as PE teacher. LOL And yes, I think Taiyô could very well start a modeling career. =) It’s indeed a wonder that Taiyô managed to stay on the bike for a few seconds. XD That part was hilarious, wasn’t it? And yes, Shoon’s dancing in Kiss de tsutaete was his best performance yet together with his performance of Underworld, long ago. =)

Here in Spain it’s really hard to find anything JE related too. For example I’d have to order the magazines online from Japan or elsewhere, and they are not cheap, plus it’s 5 magazines per month, so I’m REALLY GRATEFUL to the generous people who scan them and share them. I imagine they are interested in several JE groups, so for them it must be worth the money they cost, but I’m only interested in Ya-Ya-yah, so it would be a waste to buy a magazine for the sake of 4 pages. Hopefully there will be more Reon pics in April’s issues. ^^B

XD I sometimes amuse myself imagining the guys (Ya-Ya-yah, I mean) actually check this blog and that Shoon and Yabu have read BnS. I really wonder why does JE make the guys wear such hideous outfits sometimes. The other day I was watching a video clip of Fahrenheit, a Chinese group made up of 4 guys, and they wore casual clothes. I think some of the JE outfits are great, like Ya-Ya-yah’s firemen ones, but some others... it’s just not fair for the guys. -__-U

Well, Shoon’s team lost at the tug-o-war game, but it wasn’t so much his fault as Goseki’s. XD Shouting out orders and not helping the others to pull! Shoon was so awesome in the Kiss de tsutate performance I’ve watched it like a million times!! ^^BBB If you watch it and compare his dancing with the other guys... well, he’s just THE BEST. =D

Okay, it was just a couple of seconds, but still... ^^BBB Probably Yabu and Hikaru will get interviewed when they graduate, though. Life is unfair. =(

At last!! T___T I was getting so Ya-Ya-yah deprived! ^^ Sorry I've been missing in action. [EDIT] Mai-chan, you were right about the Yama-Q! XD I was reading the text that accompanies the photos and it's the boys who give each other those nicknames on spot. XD

(loose translation because my Japanese is just so-so XD)

Hikaru: Shoon... Sho... Shock... Shocker!?

Yabu: Shoon is not much of a shocker, is he? (not sure of this sentence)

Hikaru: Imagine being called "Shocker! Shocker!" in a concert. (laughs)

Shoon: I don't like that much (he says "sore bimyoo da naa", in which "bimyoo" is a polite way of stating your dislike of something).

Yabu: Then it could be YamaP 2!

Hikaru: Moo mae furi mo naku 2 goo dake de mo ii ka. (don't know how to translate this ^^U)

Yabu: Then Yama-Q. Q comes after P (in the alphabet).

Shoon: Hm... I've heard someone say that before. Who was it?

Hikaru: Yabu's nickname could be... since your name is Kôta... Kocchan.

Shoon: That sounds good. Decided. And Taiyô's could be... SUN!?

Hikaru: Taiyô dake ni "san" janakute "sun". (warau) (I think he means they wouldn't call him "san" (even though that's how "sun" is pronounced in English) because it would be like the suffix -san, so they'll call him "sun" (pronounced like "soon") ???) Okay, that one is an easy way to call him. "Sun" it is!

Yabu: And Hikaru's nickname... Since your surname is Yaotome... it could be... Hachibee? (Hachi is another posible pronounciation of Hikaru's "Ya" syllable in his surname, but I don't get why he calls him "Hachibe". It is a real name, isn't it? Does it mean something? The kanji for "Hachibee" are the same as for "Shinbee" (the name of Shoon's character in Satomi Hakkenden))

Hikaru: Ii ka mo! Ore, ima pin to kita! (don't know what that means ^^U)

Taiyô: YamaQ, Kocchan, Hachibee, Sun.

Hikaru: Yay!! It's decided: from the next event (concert?) everyone will call us by those nicknames.

They have really great photoshoots and there are some interesting things in them too. ^__^

It seems the Ya3 show team prepared a joint surprise on set for Shoon's and Taiyô's birthdays! =D How cool is that? ^^BBB I wonder if they did something for Yabu's birthday as well. Isn't it a shame we don't get to see these moments in the show? =/ (click to see full size)

SC 2007.02.04

Just before I forget, I've updated the mp3 rips sections with some files uploaded by P (thanks a mil!! ^^BBB) and some ripped by myself from this SC, and also the videos section. You'll notice I've replaced the links for 3 of the SC performances uploaded by Yungboy. She noticed some people might have had problems viewing those because of some codecs, so she's kindly re-encoded them (thanks a lot!! ^^BBB). Apart from that, I'm adding download links for the clips I'm posting on this entry. =) I haven't finished uploading all of them, so check back in a while for those that are not yet up, please. ^^

Okay, on to yesterday's SC. It was absolutely fantastic. ^___^ Not a lot of Ya3 performances, but there was Ya3 presence in almost every segment - even Taiyô in the Jr. no mirakuru daisakusen.

The producers were ABC (about time too, poor guys), and the theme was "Bôken", "adventure". The show started with every group performing a bit from a song. Ya-Ya-yah's song was Ikujinashi, and their entrance was not very spectacular -sorry, guys, not your fault ^^UUU -, especially in comparison to their former performances of this song, in which Shoon always came from one side running and did a pirouette.

And, um, somebody please tell JE to ditch the "Sergeant Pepper" outfits once and for all. T___T I'm fond of Shoon's for the reasons I explained in previous entries, but honestly they are getting old and Shoon's and Taiyô's are not cool at all, really. They looked cute with them when they were younger, but now they look, er... clownish uncool.

Also... Hikaru-kun, Taiyô-kun... rolling up your sleeves like that is a no-no (besides in Hikaru's case it must be even uncomfortable because the fabric looks stiff). Rolled-up sleeves were fashionable in the 1980s (Miami Vice, anyone? XD), but we're in the 21st century now. ^^U So please, JE, put away those outfits... but DON'T YOU DARE let other juniors use them. They are part of Ya-Ya-yah's history, so don't you dare. XD

After the opening of the show all the juniors sang a medley called the "Bôken medley", in which Shoon and Taiyô sang Sayaendo with ABC's Tsuka-chan. ^^B I felt proud of Shoonie for being paired with Tsuka-chan to do the acrobatics for the entrance because Tsuka-chan is the best acrobat in JE. =) Taiyô was great, and I really liked the dancing, kind of playful. ^__^ (Mai-chan, in reply to your comment: I don't think Shoon looked tired or serious in this part of the show. ?__? He seemed a bit lazy and skipped some steps, but oh, well, Shoon seems to like doing his own thing on stage. XD I kinda like it. ;-) ).

Hikaru sang Fly High with the rest of Kitty, and Yabu sang Summary with other juniors. Yui told me she was a bit worried that the public did not seem excited at all when he came down the stairs, but it looks like they didn't even notice Yabu at first because he was coming from the back and in silence too. I mean, probably if he had come down the stairs singing they would have noticed him and squealed, but he was so serious! XD

Then Ya-Ya-yah performed again Te wo tsunaide yukô, and the Yamabu fan in me was totally pissed off because they made Shoon stand next to Hikaru. No Yamabu handholding. T____T Esther will be happy, though. It seems somebody finally noticed Hikaru looked too small next to Taiyô. *grumbles* Either way it was my least favourite performance of this song and not just because of that, but because of the outfits... the "Sergeant Pepper" outfits again! Noooo! It totally ruined the performance. T___T There was one thing I did like about the performance, though: Shoon playing air-guitar at the beginning. X3 Cute.

Then we had another Jr. no mirakuru daisakusen segment (yay!) in which the theme was Bôken no ô, "the adventure king". There were two teams, made up of 4 juniors, and in one we had Taiyô and Yabu, and in the other Shoon. ^___^ First they did rope pulling, and poor Shoon kept slipping XD -ne, Shoon, where was your strength gone to?- but there was a really cute and funny moment before that. Both teams gathered in a circle, and for some reason Shoon ducked beneath the other guys and danced ballerina style in the middle! ^^BBBBB

It reminded me of that time, back in 2003, when he danced in a similar way -only he was in hyper!Shoon mode that day. XD Ah, how is it even possible that some people dislike Shoon? He's the cutest, sweetest, most adorable thing on the face of Earth. He can be all serious and cool, and suddenly surprise you when you expect it less. Some other guys are cam-whores or try to be funny all the time, but Shoon is just his laid-back self most of the time yet is funny and childlike when he chooses to be. X333

After that came another competition in which they had to ride mini-tricycles, and poor Taiyô being so tall was in such trouble! XD It was the funniest, cutest thing too. ^^BBB

And then... then came the best surprise of all (at least for me). Yamapi, who was the special guest in the show, performed a song called Kiss de tsutaete he and Kôki had composed, and for which, or that's what I've heard, he selected a few juniors to sing along with him. Among the lucky ones were Yabu and Shoon. ^_______^ Why he chose Shoon and not Hikaru is a mystery to me -not that I'm complaining, of course. ;-) I mean, Hikaru would have been the obvious choice, ne? Great voice, he was part of Kitty GYM... But he chose Shoon and that made my day. ^___^ Perhaps my obse-Shoon makes me biased, but I think Shoon was the one whose voice blended best with Yamapi's. There's something about Shoon's voice. It's not the best voice in JE not in Ya3, but still there's something nice and special about it. It's soft, and velvety, and teenager-like, and it also has a very slight feminine shade that makes it blend in a nice way with other voices, like Hikaru's, and in this case Yamapi's.

I really liked this song and I think Shoon outdid himself, not just with the singing, but also with the dancing, and he looked so very beautiful! It's simply amazing how he can look masculine and sexy, yet also feminine and delicate at the same time. In fact, watching this performance I finally came up with the adjective I'd been looking for so long to describe Shoon: exquisite. He is.

The outfit helped too. ;-) I love those new outfits they wore first at the New Year concert. I've baptised them as the "firemen outfits" XD , but I think they're great, Shoon's and Taiyô's in particular.

The show ended with the performance by all the juniors of a song called Wanna.

MS PF 2003.06.06

Today we'll go back in time, to a Music Station episode of 2003 in which Ya-Ya-yah (no Hoshino nor Akama around this time, even though they were still on the TV show) performed Stompin' (I love that song =)), Just Wanna Lovin' You (Japlish pwns XD) and Stand by Me. It brings back memories because some people who are no longer in the jimushô appear here, like Jimmy Mackey and Matsumoto Kohei, you can also see the 6 members K.K.Kitty, even ABC with Tôshin Yoshikazu (I think Tôshin is doing theatre, but I miss seeing him on SC =( ). The last minutes of the performance are totally insane, with the fans surrounding them and jumping up and down. Scary! XD

I've added some new pics to the New Year concert set (folder) of the album and replaced the Moonlightboy.com ones with bigger, unwatermarked ones I snagged from LJH (credits to MOTOMIMOST, who scanned them) -see below, starting from the last 2 ones in the 3rd row. As you'll see, some of the new ones are Kitty (plus Yûto) pics, but Hikaru is in them, so that's why I uploaded those too. There's a 2 pages interview with Kitty from the New Year concert booklet as well, which some months ago would have worried me. Now I think they interview the four Kitty members just as representatives of their respective groups. Probably JE thought it would have been too telling if it had been a Ya-Ya-yah interview instead, but who is not convinced by now that it will be Ya-Ya-yah who will debut in Spring? ;-)

I hadn't noticed it! XD Hmmm... Nah, I think Yabu didn't notice that exchange look between them, either and probably it was just that Shoon's and Hikaru's eyes met by chance when they turned their heads at the same time. =p

It's funny because when I first saw that pic I didn't know much about KMF2, and thought it might be Shoon's brother, since he was not wearing the school uniform. XD Either way Miyata seems a nice guy, ne? =)
