several things

[EDIT 2]: Somebody told me the link for .002 of the 2007.03.18 ST PF (Hoshi wo Mezashite) was the same as .001. Here's the right link for .002: http://www.mediafire.com/?4wk2zojjqu5 I already corrected it at the videos section as well.
·
[EDIT]: the URLs of 3 links of TFP were wrong, but I already corrected them. ^^
·
Hi! Many things today! ^___^ First, for those of you who are not members of the Shoon daily community I co-mod with my friend Akgla, Shoon around-the-clock, some days ago I posted there a subbed clip of the only "Anata ni o-tegami kakimashô!" Shoon has appeared in so far. That was on the Shônen Club episode of 2005.02.20, and the person he exchanged letters with was Yoshikazu Tôshin. In case you don't know who Tôshin is... well, he's a very nice, shy guy who not so long ago was labelled as one of the "leading juniors" by JE. That didn't mean much, just that he was valued by JE but didn't belong in any group. He used to perform with ABC sometimes on SC, he starred with Shoon in the musical West Side Story, and now he's doing theatre. Anyway, he's a really sweet guy as you'll see from this clipped subbed by Princekira (thanks again!! ^^BBB) [Notice how nervous Shoon was; the hand he was holding the letter with was actually shaking! And his expression of relief when he finishes reading is so cute! ^.^*]
·
·
I've posted download links for this clip at the videos section. =)
·
On to other things... Remember Yuantim, the nice reader who sent me many scans to share with you all? =) Well, she sent me some more a few days ago, among them these ones (right-click to see full size), which are a small booklet from the 2007.02 issue of Potato. I haven't had time to read it, but it seems some sort of quiz in which different Johnny's take part, Yabu and Hikaru among them. She wonders if somebody would be so kind as to translate it, or at least the Yabu and Hikaru parts. This is a great occasion for us to give her something in return for her generosity in sharing so many scans, so I hope somebody will fulfil her request. ^___^
·
I've uploaded these and other scans belonging to that issue here: 2007.02 Potato scans
·

·
And last but not least, I've also added another couple of download links for Shônen Club performances courtesy of Yungboy (thanks as always! ^^BBB) and a big surprise... Akgla, Amarylliszai, Yui, and I have uploaded a high quality version of the 2006 TV show episode of Tokyo Friend Park in which Shoon played games together with the rest of the Satomi Hakkenden cast. Special thanks go to Liching, from LJH, for having uploaded it to her clubbox, which is where we downloaded it from. ^^BBB You can find the links at the videos section too. =)
·
PS: I'll try and answer all your comments on the next entry. ^^

mish-mash

The live stage from 2007.03.18 should be remembered as something almost historical: 4 of the 5 NEWS members that used to be regulars in the Ya3 show from the start, back when they were K.K.Kitty and Massu was just labelled as a "junior", reappeared together after a year of forced hiatus. It was really beautiful, and it brought back so many memories. ;__; It also made me miss Kusano, realize what an amazing voice Tegoshi has, and... well, I never saw our guys so solemn. ^^ It was awesome.
·
·
I've uploaded it to MediaFire (you can find the links at the videos section), but they're undergoing maintenance just now, so check back later if they're still not working. ^^U
·
I also updated the mp3 section with several mp3 rips from the latest Ya3 shows (thanks keifuXueda for the one you sent me! ^__^) Since MediaFire is not working today I uploaded them to SendSpace. I'll reupload them to MediaFire when I have the time.
·
And as I promised I've uploaded more of the clippings scans Yuantim sent to me. [Thanks as always, Yuantim. ^^BBB You're the best] They are scans from 2004.08 Wink Up.

another debut sign?

This is exciting and really interesting: Ya-Ya-yah have several pages in the May issue of Popolo, a magazine in which they hadn't been featured before. Hmmm... another debut sign? ;-)
·
Also, kudoz to the magazine photographer for realizing that Shoon and Yabu are totally OTP. XD These pics of them together are so amusing! LOL I love Yabu's cheeky, almost defying "Nan da yo?" [なんだよ] in the first one (it means something like an irritated/impatient "what?" that would be an equivalent of "what do you want?/do you have a problem?"), and Shoon's expression is priceless. XDDD The one below is so awkward and cute at the same time. ^^B And the second one is just the best thing ever with Yabu leaning on Shoon and this silly look on his face as if he were thinking "Oh, God this is a miracle! I finally get some shoots with Shoon!" XDDDD [pics scanned from Popolo by ZANSANHANE]
·
·
And there's more! Yabu "punching" Shoon in the most girly manner XD (totally reminds me of girl punches in manga saying "kyaa, you pervert!" XDDD) and both looking distracted ("eh?" "huh?") ...or more likely trying to distract us from the fact that Yabu's hand is on Shoon's knee (naughty, naughty! XDDD) [pic scanned from Popolo by ZANSANHANE]
·
·
The Myojo scans are awesome too, but I don't want to spoil them for you. =)

spot the differences

Can you spot the differences between these two covers of the 2004.11 Wink Up issue? ;-)
·

 ·
Basically the only difference is that Taiyô's head is cocked a little to the side on the one on the right. XD No, this is not a "spot the differences" game. The cover on the left belongs to the Japanese edition of Wink Up, and the one on the right to the Taiwanese edition of the same magazine. What is interesting is that sometimes the pics on each edition are not just slightly different. Want an example? Same issue, different angles. [left, Japanese edition; right, Taiwanese edition]
·

·
I had heard once of a Taiwanese edition of Wink Up, but thought the photos in them were the same. Then one day, when I was organizing and labelling the scans on my hard disk I realized some that I almost sent to the trash bin because they seemed the same pictures were not actually the same! The Ya3 collector in me went crazy. There are even more Ya3 pics out there than I had thought! XD Now I squeal whenever I come accross Taiwanese WU pics because they are so hard to find online! It's really interesting - or at least for a mad collector like me it is. XD;;; Anyway, the real aim of this entry is to share with you all both scans of both editions of the issue mentioned above (2004.11 WU). Credits go to Yuantim (thanks once again), and to Tadashi, from LJH).

Also, Yungboy has kindly uploaded some more SC clips (thanks so so much ^^BBB), and you can find them at the videos section. =]
·
PS to KeifuxUeda: Yes, please, I'd be very thankful if you sent me the link for that mp3 rip. =)

live stage and comments

[To Lily]: I've uploaded Cool Edit Pro for you: click here. It's a 19MB zipped file. How to install it: 1) unzip all the files in the zip to one folder, 2) click on "cepsetup.exe" to install the program and 3) click on the folder called "crack" and click on "cep2reg.exe". Hope you'll find it easy to use. If you have any doubts e-mail me.
·
[To K-chan]: If you can't view the live stage download this player and try to watch it with it. It plays almost any video file type. =)
·
Fiona hasn't uploaded yet the show from last weekend (2007.03.11), but she had uploaded a high quality version of the live stage. ^__^ I've uploaded it to Daily Motion for those of you who haven't seen it yet, and I've uploaded it to Media Fire: .001 .002 .003 I'll add these links to the videos section as soon as I have the time. ^^
·
Each of them had a "solo" part, and then the four of them sang together Itoshii no Playgirl at the end. I use the quotation marks because a couple of JJE members did backsinging for each of them. Hikaru sang Start, Shoon SummerxSummerxSummer, Taiyô Kaze ni Notte, and Yabu HaruxNatsuxAkixFuyu.
·
I don't get why did Shoon sing Summerx3. ?__? I mean, all the other songs in the medley were old original Ya3 songs, and Summerx3 is quite recent. I would have liked him to sing Himawari no Melody, which is one of my faves. In fact the blue-white outfit he wore... I call those outfits the "Himawari outfits" because the first time I saw them wearing those was when they performed that song on SC. I used to like them, but not so much anymore. ^^ Hikaru's voice didn't mix at all with Takaki's voice. ^^UUU I wish they had let him sing on his own. Taiyô did GREAT! ^____^ I feel so proud of him. And Yabu... it's strange, but HaruxNatsu... didn't sound much different to me now from when he was younger. Why is that? ?__?
·
Not much more to comment other than... OMG, Shoon's smile! *swoons* I die a little every time he smiles like that. Loved the fangirls squealing when he smiled. He also seemed more energetic. Must be because his exams are over. XD
·
·
I'm so much behind with answering comments that I'm going to try something different today. ^^ Please know that even if I don't answer to each and every comment I do read them ALL. =]
·
Mai-chan, Kins and many others of you have left comments to tell me you understand the necessity of the changes I've decided to make on this blog, and I wanted to thank you all for that. ^___^ I already feel a bit less stressed.
·
Alice tells me she prefers the "chibi" version of the old songs they sang on the latest live stage because they had more energy. Well, I guess, you're right, but wouldn't it be scary if the guys had now the same energy they had when they were kids? XD She also tells me she and her cousin started writing a Yamabu fic one day when they were bored. Please finish it and post it on some Ya3/JE related community! Yamabu needs more love! ^^B
·
Some of you, like Mei, Chookie, Geri, and others have told me you too dislike the ranks thing, but others, like 神ちゃん and Sohee think I was exaggerating a little on that entry... which I guess I was. XD Um, yeah, I'm a bit passionate sometimes when stating my opinions, so when I write things like "I truly, truly hate the way JE divides the guys into ranks" I actually mean it pisses me off a little, but it's not like I can't sleep at night thinking of it or something. ^^ Perhaps it's because I'm Spanish that I'm a passionate person? I don't know. XD
·
Sometimes I've wondered if the ranks thing would bother me just as much if Shoon was pimped as much as Yabu and Hikaru are. I mean, I ask myself "does it bother me because I resent my favourite johnny is not getting enough attention?". Well, no I think it would still bother me. Apart from being passionate I also have a tendency to get fond of underdogs and to feel for those who are treated unfairly. Don't know why is that either. Perhaps because I'm motherly? XD What I mean is that even on those SCs on which Shoon has been pimped more I still felt bad for others like Taiyô or Question (who by the way are working on a musical now, aren't they? I felt happy for them when they announced it on the Ya3 show ^___^). Yui agrees with me on this, and tells me she would be feel just as bad for Yabu and Hikaru if one day JE stopped pimping them. (To Yui: about HanaKimi... do you really like senior Nan better than Jian? Jian is much cuter! ^^B)
·
Also, Gladys (hey there, long time without hearing from you! ^^BBB) comments on how unfair it is that a certain junior might be among the favourites for some time and then that changes all of a sudden. So true! There are quite a few examples of that, like Ikuta Toma, or Ya-Ya-yah-wise... Akama Naoya. He was pimped as much as Yabu when they were kids, but he grew up, his voice broke and... bye-bye Akama. ^^U
·
Yuki wonders how do the juniors feel about this ranks thing, if the ones who are not very popular might feel discouraged. Well, my opinion is that of course they must feel bad about it. I doubt they're jealous of those with a higher rank, but after all they are all working just as hard. Taiyô seems quite resigned, but Shoon gets moody when he doesn't get to do much. If I were in his place so would I.
·
Still on the topic of ranks... Cherryberry wonders if anybody knows where she can learn more about the meaning of colours in Japan. Any ideas? It would be interesting indeed to learn more about that. =]
·
Lily wants to know how to rip an mp3 out of a video clip. Well, I use a program called Cool Edit Pro 2.1, which I'll gladly upload for you as soon as I finish uploading last Sunday's live stage which I'm uploading now, okay? =) Please check back later.
·
Kins has noticed that a few of the birthdates on the calendar are wrong. I hadn't noticed it because the only birthdates I know by heart are those of Ya-Ya-yah, but yes, I've heard other people point that out as well. By the way, if someone wants the whole calendar, I uploaded it to Mediafire for somebody a few days ago - click here.
·
Ya-Ya-yah unrelated, but Shin tells me she's hoping for a sequel of HanaKimi. So am I! T___T It was such a great drama! (My sister is totally crazy for Wu Chun! LOL She wrote a message on his blog and left her e-mail, telling him to please, come and visit Spain. XDDD)
·
About the April issues of Duet, Potato, and Wink Up, Rin comments on how Yabu needs a haircut... and I heartily agree XD and on how Taiyô is on her opinion the most photogenic. I think so too. =] I think Shoon is the best looking of the four, but he's not as photogenic as Taiyô.
·
Thanks also to Sere, May-May, Alei, and KeifuxUeda for your comments!! ^^BBB

April Duet, Potato, and Wink Up

The April issues are all awesome! *___* Why? Well, for one thing Shoon shows again that he doesn't need to appear bare-chested to look sexy...
·

·
Also? Yamabu may be a figment of my imagination, but they're the best looking "couple" EVER. XD Ignore Yabu's ugly sports jacket and even uglier shirt and trousers.
·
·
And Shoon... HOW ON EARTH CAN PEOPLE SAY HE'S JUST AN AVERAGE LOOKING GUY?! @__@ Good God, can you get any more beautiful? *___*
·
·
Need more reasons why the April issues are awesome? I'll tell you a secret: in slash fiction most people see Shoon as uke (the feminine one) and Yabu as seme (the masculine one), but to me it's always been the other way around. In fact I think one of the reasons why they're such a great pairing is that with them those roles are quite interchangable. Yabu has a very boyish attitude, but a rather femenine figure, and Shoon has a very masculine appearance, but also femenine features and a somewhat femenine personality. So, yeah, everybody calls Yabu "Prince Yabu", but he can also be "Princess Yabu in distress". XD On another note... somebody should tell the magazine stylist that buttoning the first button of your shirt is not stylish at all... nor is that shirt. ^^U
·

·
And yes, Shoon can be handsome and cool, but also pretty and delicate.
·
·
Esther and other Shookaru fans will be happy with April's issues as well. I'm not. T___T She'll forever tease me with the pics below. Oh, well, I'm still happy that we get more "graduation" pics (though for some reason this one looks more to me like a bachelor's party XDDD).
·

·
Changing the subject... Isn't it amazing what a difference clothes can make? For instance Taiyô looks his age in the pic on the right, but looks totally cool in the one on the left.
·

ranks

I truly, truly hate the way JE always divides the guys in ranks. On the last entry I was speaking of ranks through colours. Now it's ranks through photo size, ring colour, and place. Just to show how complex this ranks thing is, let's analyse the cover of the Juniors 2007-8 calendar... [credits to Fiona from Happy Town]
·
·
Yabu, who is the leading junior, is placed at the top part, in the centre, the colour of the ring around his photo is red (leadership), and his is one of the biggest pics. Hikaru too gets a big pic, placed at the top, but the ring is blue (co-leadership). Kitayama is 3rd most important junior, as can be deemed by the fact that his pic has been placed at the top and is the same size as Yabu's and Hikaru's. His ring cannot be red because he's not as important as Yabu, but then he's the leader of his group, KMF2, so to show that he gets a purple ring, a colour resulting from red, which is the colour of leadership. Fujigaya is an important junior too, so he has a big pic as well, placed at the top too, and since he's the co-leader of KMF2 his ring is blue, like Hikaru's.
·
Notice that Senga, who of late seems to have become one of JE's favourites has a bigger pic than Yokoo, and he has a special colour: bright green. In fact JE has been pimping KMF2 more than ABC (as can be seen from the fact that they appeared on theit own on the latest Music Station), so Tottsu and Kawai are less important than Kitayama and Fujigaya: they're at the top too, but their pics are smaller, and their status in their group is co-leaders at the same level, so they both get a blue ring.
·
What about Shoon? Well, it seems he's less important than Yabu, Hikaru, Kitayama, Fujigaya, Tottsu, and Kawai, because his photo is smaller, has been placed at the far left, and his ring is yellow. He seems to share the same status as Inoo (far right).
·
Yûto's pic is at the bottom part, but he's one of JE's main assets, so he gets a pic as big as Yabu's and Hikaru's, placed in the center, and he gets a pink ring (again a colour resulting from red [red+white] - he doesn't get purple because he's less important than Kitayama). Notice that Yamada's pic is just as big, placed at the right, because after all he's a newcomer to the limelight, but his ring is bright green, like Senga's, because he too is one of JE's favourite's.
·
Finally Taiyô... is placed at the bottom, among the youngest juniors (???), his pic is smaller even than Shoon's, and his ring is orange.
·
I'm not sure if someone with a big pic at the bottom can be deemed as more important than someone with a smaller pic at the top (e.g. are Yamada and Yûto more important than Shoon?), but it seems a highly unfair ranking if you ask me. *fumes* JE obsession with ranks sucks. XPPPP
·
PS: I added links on the videos section for 2 SC performances provided by Yungboy (thanks as always! ^^BBB).
·
PS2: Scans of the whole calendar can be downloaded at Fiona's clubbox. =)

rambling on colours

Have you already watched the latest Ya-Ya-yah show (2007.02.25)? Making them wear kitty costumes to try and catch a mechanic mouse was funny, but what I really found funny was that they all seemed to enjoy wearing those costumes (even Shoon!) and how Yabu gave his all in the game as if it were a very serious competition. XD In the live stage Taiyô and Shoon were missing. Perhaps they were recording solos for their debut album or perhaps it's just wishful thinking. ^^ Anyway, Yabu performed Arashi no Carnival with big sunglasses that made you wonder if it was supposed to be cool or to make you laugh. XD I liked it, though. He looked sexy and funny at the same time. How can that be? XD
·
Then he sang Ikujinashi with Hikaru, and I noticed they're using the Ya-Ya-yah colours: red, blue, and white. JJE, who were backdancing for Yabu wore blue, the miscellaneous juniors backdancing for Hikaru wore red, and Yabu and Hikaru themselves wore white. Moreover, if you look close you'll see the stripes of their jackets' cuffs are blue, red, and white as well. LOL I wonder if there's a meaning to those colours. Red is for leadership, which is Yabu's colour, and blue can be interpreted I guess as co-leadership as it's a primary colour as well and it's Hikaru's colour.
·
At first I thought Taiyô's colour was yellow, which confused me, because it's the third primary colour and that have been utterly unfair to Shoon, whose colour (green) is the result of mixing blue and yellow, but then I realized it's orange (red+yellow), so it makes sense. Also, it's interesting that JE used secondary colours resulting from each of the primary colours Hikaru and Yabu have. I mean, in Shoon's case it's green, which is blue(Hikaru)+yellow, and in Taiyô's case it's red(Yabu)+yellow. They could have given Shoon or Taiyô purple instead, which is red+blue, but the green and orange is a clever thing. ^^
·
What about white? Hm... No idea. The U.K. flag has red, blue, and white too... could it be another Beatles connection? XD
·
Anyway, I uploaded to Mediafire the high-quality live stage Fiona uploaded to her clubbox because it has a bigger screen-size and better quality than the one included in the full version file. [Right-click on the caps below to see the screen-size and quality] You'll find the links in the videos section. =)
·
·
In case you haven't watched it and want to do it while you download, I uploaded the clip to Dailymotion as well. =) Enjoy.
·
·
And to finish this entry... more of the clippings scans YUANTIM sent to me. ^____^ This time they are from the 2004.04 issue of Duet. I adore the Shoon+Taiyô photoshoot in this one. They look so cute! ^^B Also, the haircut Shoon had back then is my favourite of all the haircuts he's had. =)
·
